It’s been years since Bleach dominated anime fans, but here we are again. After a decade on hiatus, Ichigo Kurosaki returned to television this fall with a brand new show. Now, Bleach: The Thousand Years Blood War is at its highest, and has brought the war to the Soul Society. Soon, its latest episodes will go live, and a first look at Episode VI has been released to impress fans.
Bleach’s official website posted several photos from Episode VI, and of course, fans were quick to flock to the footage. As you can see below, none of them are bringing Ichigo to center stage, but they promise that the Soul Society’s invasion is about to intensify.

What do the pictures tell us?
As you can tell, the first shots focus on Ywach and Captain Yamamoto as the Soul Reapers compete head-to-head. Quincy’s leader looks more intimidating than ever as he stands in the glare of Yamamoto’s fire. The old man might be injured, but his strength is fully shown in this footage. And if you check out the Toshiro still photos, you can see how intense the commander-in-chief’s fire really was.

The fourth is still different from the rest. While others focus on Yamamoto’s fire, Unohana’s last photo stands out. Captain Soul Reaper is known for her healing abilities, and has been a Bleach favorite for years thanks to her demeanor. However, this still seems to show Unohana in a different light. The gentle, soft-spoken captain went instead of the sharp-featured captain. And if you’ve read the manga, well – you know where Bleach Unohana is about to take.
For those who want to watch this episode live, Bleach will drop it on Monday, November 14, on Hulu in the US. Disney+ is broadcasting the series outside the United States. And of course, every Tite Kubo manga can be read online through the Manga Plus or Shonen Jump app.
